It is our mission to open and operate special events in compliance with government mandates currently in place for restaurants. We are not asking the state to rewrite its rules, just apply its rules and guidance fairly.
We fully understand the seriousness and gravity of the current pandemic. Private Events are the lifeblood of New York and an engine of prosperity for the City and State. Without private and public events, our cultural, political, economic, and physical landscapes have been dramatically altered. While the procedures and protocols for safety are essential to resuming business, it is our utmost PRIORITY to ensure that our employees, clients, and guests have sufficient confidence in our industry so we can reopen and safely host private events. We are committed to returning employees to the events industry safely while complying with the protocols and mandates implemented by the City and State Governments as it pertains to gatherings.
Legal counsel has been retained, specializing in constitutional law to sue the State of New York with a Class Action Lawsuit on behalf of 2 named venues. All other support will remain anonymous, except for a small number of organizers of the initiative. Lawyers, the general public, & the government will not have access to this information and it will not be released unless you provide explicit directives otherwise.
Our constitutional rights are being violated because venues and gatherings are being treated differently than the large dinner crowd at restaurants that are currently being allowed to host both indoor and outdoor patrons at 50% capacity with proper social distancing.
The class-action lawsuit focuses on “Reception Venue” reopening with safe guidelines/protocols, as attached HERE.
We have collected funds to retain legal counsel. We will continue to raise funds from venues that are interested in helping to support the legal costs and raise public awareness.
We will be collecting funds from Creative Partners to support the effort. When venues reopen, all vendors will be able to return to work.
We are asking clients and the general public to show their support by electronically signing a petition stating they are ready to get back to celebrating their life’s milestones.
